If you don't mind the inquiry from a non-artist, why is this in the Surreal category? I can see how it is not a photograph, but it looks like a stylized, beautiful, painting of a pretty natural scene. I love the tone and texture of your background. I suppose it doesn't seem strange or unreal enough to me to be "surreal", but then I might not have a good grasp of what that term really means.
I regard it a nice compliment you say it looks like a stylized, beautiful painting of a pretty natural scene! Thank you very much. I placed it in the Surreal category because it is in my opinion strange enough, not like reality, due to elements that are not correct. As the perspective of the tree itself, no shadow of the tree, size of the leaves on the ground and where do they come from. In general the surreal provides us with real images which we find difficult to accept as true. But I understand it may also be that in this work it is not strange, unreal enough or difficult to accept as true to be surreal. Maybe this is also a personal issue and not strictly to define.
