Instant favorite! Did you draw the roots yourself or is that mixed in from another shot? I'm just curious. I love to learn new techniques. And I'm sensing a luminescent layer of.. water? in there. How did you do the sky? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions. Wonderful piece!

For the roots I used a brush. The sky and the water are on the same background.
For the foreground I used part of a beach. I created the tree in an separate psd
file. It is all a matter of blending, effects, filters, masking and adjustments. :)
